Bestselling author, award-winning keynote speaker and executive coach

Craig was born and raised in Mount Pearl, a town of 22,000 people near the easternmost point of Newfoundland and Labrador. He often tells audiences that “there’s only one thing you need to know about me: I’m from Newfoundland.”

For over 25 years, Craig has been fascinated by the links between the science and practice of leadership excellence, so much so that he pursued his PhD in Psychology and Business. His personal mission is to bridge the gap between what science knows and what leaders do.

Craig is passionate about teaching and coaching. Previously, he was a Professor at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada where he was twice nominated for the Capital Educators Award. Today, he serves as an executive coach to leaders in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors while supporting EMBA and AMBA students at the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Craig is a regular contributor to industry-leading publications including Forbes, CEOWORLD, Psychology Today, Huffington Post, Thrive Global, the Financial Times and the Financial Post. He has been interviewed by dozens of TV, radio and podcast hosts, and frequently speaks at conferences, management retreats and other fora. In 2009, he was named to the Ottawa Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” list.

Craig has published two books, both of which have earned places on bestseller lists, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Amazon. The top global thought leaders have also provided powerful endorsements of his work, such as Adam Grant, Daniel Pink and Marshall Goldsmith.

His first book, Do Good To Lead Well: The Science and Practice of Positive Leadership, was released in 2019. Learn more about the book here.

His latest book, A Time To Lead: Mastering Your Self So You Can Master Your World, was written with Alan Mulally, the legendary former CEO of Ford Motor Company and Boeing Commercial Airplanes along with Sarah McArthur (co-Editor in Chief of Leader to Leader). Internationally renowned executive coach, Marshall Goldsmith, wrote the Foreword. It was released on September 13, 2022 and made the bestseller lists for both the Wall Street Journal and USA Today while also hitting #1 in 8 different categories on Amazon. The book is available through all major booksellers, including Amazon.

In 2022, Craig started Do Good To Lead Well, a weekly podcast featuring interviews with notable thought leaders and CEOs.
